How it works from home

  1. Book and get your guide

    Get in touch to book. We send you our illustrated self-capture guide, covering your space, camera settings, poses and what to wear.

  2. Capture your video or photos

    Your helper films a short video, or takes 100 to 200 photos, in five levels from your knees to your chin while you hold your pose, then captures a few close-ups.

  3. Send them to us

    Create a share link in iCloud or Google Photos and email it to enquiry@sculpt3d.co.uk. Everything is treated in complete confidence.

  4. Approve your digital sculpture

    Suzie checks your files, asks for retakes if needed, and sends you a digital preview to view from every angle before anything is printed.

  5. Delivered to your door

    Your sculpture is 3D printed, hand-finished in your chosen collection and sent by tracked courier, with a full reprint guarantee.

Guided by a midwife, even from a distance

Suzie Ayre has been a registered midwife for 16 years. She knows that posing for photos during pregnancy takes a certain kind of confidence, and her guide is written to make it simple and comfortable, at a time that suits you.

You choose whether to pose clothed, in underwear or naturally. Clothing cannot be removed digitally afterwards, so it is worth deciding before you start. If you are unsure about anything, email Suzie and she will talk you through it.

Questions about the self-photo option

Can I really get a pregnancy sculpture without a scan?
Yes. With a helper, you take a short video or 100 to 200 photos at home following our step-by-step guide. Suzie turns them into a 3D model, sends you a digital preview to approve, and we print and hand-finish your sculpture.
Do I need special equipment?
No. A modern smartphone is enough. You also need someone to help, a clear space of about 2.5 by 2.5 metres and good daylight. Our self-capture guide shows you exactly what to do.
Why isn't the self-photo option cheaper than a studio scan?
Turning a video or photos into a 3D model takes much more processing and hand refinement than a studio scan, often many hours, so the price is the same.
What if my video or photos are not good enough?
Suzie checks everything you send before we begin. If anything needs retaking, she will tell you what is needed and talk you through it.
Can you make a mum and baby sculpture this way?
Yes. Mum and baby sculptures are made only through the self-photo option, and priced individually. Your baby needs to be asleep and completely still while your helper films or takes the photos, because any movement means it will not work. Get in touch to talk it through.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Yes. We deliver anywhere in the UK by tracked courier, and to other countries for self-photo clients. Get in touch for delivery costs to your location.
How long does it take?
Allow approximately 8 to 12 weeks from the point your video or photos are approved to your sculpture arriving.
